BREAKING NEWS! There is a cure for Coronavirus COVID-19. Scientists have discovered a medications which can prevent and cure the Coronavirus. What is Chloroquine?

Chloroquine is from origine an old malaria medicine, but now there are better ones on the market for malaria. However, it does have a magic effect on the group of corona viruses.

The drug chloroquine may help treat patients infected with the coronavirus who have serious symptoms. This was actually discovered in 2004 by a team of virologists from the Catholic University of Leuven. They found that chloroquine appears to be antiviral against SARS coronaviruses.

Experience with Chloroquine in China

In China there has already been a short experimental study. There, more than 1000 patients received this medicine in the hospital. The use of chloroquine tablets showed positive results in the patients, including:

  • Fever decreased more often
  • Lung function improved more
  • All in all, the recovery time of patients became a lot shorter and people could be released from the hospital earlier. In addition, there were hardly any side effects.

President Trump claimed the drug Chloroquine, which used against malaria has been approved in the United States to treat the new coronavirus.

However the FDA said following: “There are no FDA-approved therapeutics or drugs to treat, cure or prevent Covid-19.”

However, the FDA does say that studies are under way to see if chloroquine can be effective in the treatment of Covid-19. It also says it has been directed by Mr Trump to set up a large clinical trial to investigate the drug.

At a later briefing, Mr Trump said chloroquine had been approved for “compassionate use”. This is where a doctor can give a drug that is yet to be cleared by the government to a patient in a life threatening condition. Doctors are able to prescribe chloroquine in these circumstances, as it’s a registered drug.

Conclusion

Well based on the above information from the FDA in USA, declaration from president Trump, research and knowledge from our own team of pharmacists and scientists, combined with the positive experience in China and by a research team of the University of Leuven we can say that Chloroquine is the first and most important medication to treat Covid-19 / Coronavirus up till today the 23rd of March 2020.
